Front Door Refinishing by Lance Daniel Aulffo specializes in the conservation and furniture-grade refinishing of historic, antique, and architecturally significant wooden entry doors throughout the Lowcountry and on select regional projects. A fourth-generation refinisher, Aulffo draws upon a family trade dating to 1907 and professional practice since 1994. His proprietary 17-phase process combines careful finish removal, substrate evaluation, custom staining, toning, shading, glazing, and faux-graining to reconcile variations in species, age, repairs, weathering, and previous treatments. Rather than obscuring mismatched or compromised wood beneath heavy coatings, he works to preserve visible grain, depth, and character while restoring visual unity. Projects include historic churches, estate properties, grand residential entryways, and antique architectural elements requiring disciplined, material-sensitive treatment.

Old School Craftsman, LLC provides historic restoration and custom fabrication for nineteenth-century and early-twentieth-century homes, buildings, and interiors throughout Greater Cincinnati and the tri-state region. Led by Brent W. Sears, the shop specializes in historic millwork, wood windows and frames, staircases, balustrades, doors, ornamental components, and antique furnishings requiring repair or replication. Work is guided by original profiles, period construction, compatible materials, and disciplined joinery rather than generalized replacement. Brent works alongside his son, Brendon, combining traditional hand skills with precision shop equipment where exact reproduction demands it. Components may be fabricated for local installation or shipped throughout the United States and abroad. The practice also undertakes selected plaster, copper, marquetry, parquetry, gingerbread, spandrel, and custom lantern work where specialized craftsmanship is essential.
