Tile Source Inc. was founded in 1997 by descendants of 18th century potters from Staffordshire England. Our family manufactured pottery and tile in the United Kingdom for more than 100 years. We have over 30 years experience in the United States tile industry. From an enquiry received in 1974 for the retiling of the floor of the Arts & Industries Building at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, a small plant was started to produce Encaustic & Geometric tiles almost for the first time in the 20th century. Commissions received in the 1980's and 90's included the retiling of large parts of the US Capitol, the Palace of Westminster, the Pennsylvania Academy for the Fine Arts, the Parliament Building in Quebec City and many others. Since 1997, Tile Source has supplied Encaustic and Geometric tiles for the Tweed Court House in NYC, many Court Houses in Texas and other parts of the USA, the State Capitol in Albany New York, the Saratoga Memorial, New York and many private homes. Tile Source has also supplied Victorian floor and wall tiles to many fine commercial and residential projects across North America.
